In recent days, there have been attacks on the #Unity4J movement. It doesn’t matter by who or even what side of the political spectrum did this. What matters is that attacks on fellow Assange supporters and on the Unity4J movement only hurt Julian Assange. Yes, that’s right. These attacks only help the deep state to keep him right where they want him, which is detained with deteriorating health. Their goal is the slow murder of a journalist and publisher who believes in justice and what is right. The only way they will win this battle is using the divide and conquer strategy and so far, they have managed to divide many of us based on political affiliation.
Julian himself talked about unity:
“There is unity in the oppression. There must be absolute unity and determination in the response.” ~Julian Assange
According to Wikipedia seen here:
Divide and rule (or divide and conquer, from Latin dīvide et imperā) in politics and sociology is gaining and maintaining power by breaking up larger concentrations of power into pieces that individually have less power than the one implementing the strategy. The concept refers to a strategy that breaks up existing power structures, and especially prevents smaller power groups from linking up, causing rivalries and fomenting discord among the people. It was heavily used by British Empire in India and elsewhere.
They used this strategy at Standing Rock to divide and conquer the movement as seen in this article:
“How do you conquer a nation?
Distract them with football games, political circuses and Black Friday sales. Keep them focused on their differences—economic, religious, environmental, political, racial—so they can never agree on anything. And then, when they’re so divided that they are incapable of joining forces against a common threat, start picking them off one by one.”
This is also working in the movement to Free Julian Assange. Government Operatives posing as activists start with dropping seeds of doubt and pushing an agenda against what they call the “opposition.” The opposition being people from what they call the “other side” or different political parties. They use familiar terms to put them down which causes a break in forces. Suddenly the movement is divided in half and its strength is half of what it once was. Remember the old adage “There is strength in numbers.” In this battle against the powers that be, it is more than true.
We are fighting against an extremely powerful foe, we are fighting against 2 of the strongest governments in the world. We cannot be divided by our beliefs. We cannot let politics come between us in this fight. It will destroy us from within and thus take the life of a hero.
The above picture is a good example of what the power of the people against tyranny can do. The persecution and abuse of Assange is exactly that, tyranny. It is a fight for our rights as human beings to be treated fairly. It is fight for free speech against a fascist state. If we do not stand, we will inevitably fail in our endeavors. Regardless, of our feelings towards another we need to act as one.
According to the Webster Dictionary, seen here the definition of unity is as follows:
- the quality or state of not being multiple
- a condition of harmony
- the quality or state of being made one
What comes to mind is the old truth as well, “United We Stand, Divided We Fall.” Do people not see that we are not fighting for a political side but for a man’s life? His life depends on us unifying and fighting together. He has no chance at survival or freedom of we do not become as one in this battle. No one person or small group can stand up against 2 governments so powerful and win. We need everyone on the same side. Do we really want to let Deep State win and destroy the only person willing to suffer that we know the truth?
I appeal to all those involved to take into consideration that Julian’s life is in danger and put aside their political differences to
#FreeAssange We need to save him before it’s too late!
